Make Room for Zoom

If your family is anything like mine, you are zooming it up - classes, activities and friend time have all moved over to zoom.  So instead of driving my kids all around town, I am not running around grabbing tablets or computers and trying to remember who is having a zoom, google hangout, tele-therapy appointment or whatever.  So, to help myself stay organized, I made a little schedule  (with two picture options) and thought I would share it with all of you along with some other ideas as well.

Since we are talking zoom - there are some precautions you should take anytime your child is online - I appreciated this article zoom posted with some general tips you should know about using the service.

And, you can use zoom and other sites for more than just meetings and classes - this is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family during this time of social distancing.  My kids have loved having virtual play-dates and hangouts with their friends.

Here are some ideas of games you can play over zoom:

Scavenger Hunt
call out random items participants have to find around the house - first one to bring it back and show the host, gets a point!

Bingo
have everyone print out a bingo board (make sure they are different cards) and play!  You could even have prizes for the winners (like gift cards to local restaurants or businesses!)

Words Games
word games like Boggle and Scattegories can be played over zoom -just point you camera to the boggle board or the scattergories card, set the timer and compete against your frineds!

Battle Ship
as long as both participants have the game, this would be easy to do - you could even do "family vs. family"!

Charades
The Game Girl  even has a word generator for you to use!

Pictionary
Just point your camera to your paper or a white board Elite Daily even has instructions on how to use the white board feature on zoom (and some other game ideas)

Other Sites with Game Ideas:
Meaningful Mama
Christ In Youth

Think out of the box and have some fun (and use your printable schedule to keep track of meetings AND games nights!)
